Currie Custom Cast Nets( Castnets )

Welcome To Currie Custom Cast Nets !
(And Beach Seines)

I make monofilament Beach Seines in various lengths and mesh sizes. For more information click on the Beach Seine link below.

For now, I am not going to be making any new cast nets due to time restrictions.  I AM STILL MAKING BEACH SEINES THOUGH.  I will post when I start back with cast nets again in the future

This website is the place to learn more about my handmade, custom castnets and beach seines, order a net or ask questions concerning cast nets and their use. I also plan for this site to contain general information on cast nets as well as information and tips on using cast nets to catch shrimp, bait or fish.

LATEST SHRIMP REPORT FOR GEORGIA
Looking forward to the 2009 fall season

Looks like we should have a great fall season for shrimping.  Lots of shrimp in the creeks right now and plenty of rain to help them grow.  The spring roe shrimp season also lasted longer than normal for the trawlers this year.

Just a reminder, as of March 2009 food cast nets will need to have a mesh size of 5/8” bar or larger (that is 1 ¼” stretch measurement).  On the plus side, there is no length/radius limit and modifications like taped or webbed nets are legal as they have been for the past few years.  Seine net rules stay the same and for bait shrimp you may use cast nets with smaller mesh.

This site is Under Construction right now, so please bear with me and check back often for updates. I will be adding the section on shrimping soon.
