SHRIMP REPORT FOR GEORGIA
Looking forward to the 2009 fall season
Looks like we should have a great fall season for
shrimping. Lots of shrimp in the creeks
right now and plenty of rain to help them grow.
The spring roe shrimp season also lasted longer than normal for the
trawlers this year.
Just a reminder, as of March 2009 food cast nets will
need to have a mesh size of 5/8” bar or larger (that is 1 ¼” stretch
measurement). On the plus side, there is
no length/radius limit and modifications like taped or webbed nets are legal as
they have been for the past few years.
