This
section will hopefully be helpful for both new and experienced cast netters. To
start off with, I am going to post some of my tips, techniques and ideas about
using cast nets to catch seafood and bait. While I am experienced with some of
these types of cast netting, others I have had little or no experience with. I
am hoping, in the future, that some of you all will email me some of your ideas
and tips to be included on this page and fill in those areas. I will also be
posting links to other pages that hold info on cast netting and will add those
that are sent to me to the Links Page. As these are
my, and others, personal experiences and are specific for certain areas of the
country some things may or may not work where you are cast netting.
Also, while some activities may be legal in certain states and areas they may
not be in others. A couple of examples are baiting for shrimp which is legal in
SC but not in GA and using a cast net may be illegal in freshwater in your
area. It is up to you to check the regulations for your area and make sure you
stay legal.

These pages are not yet completed so the links will not work. Please
check back soon as I hope to have some of them uploaded soon. Thanks
SHRIMPING- For both food and bait.
MULLET- For food, roe and bait.
FISH- Cast netting larger fish, other than
mullet. Other than catching the occasional whiting or flounder in my net while
shrimping, I don't have any experience with this so any help filling in the
info would be appreciated.
OTHER BAIT- Pogies, greenies, glass minnows,
cigar minnows or any other bait caught with a cast net.
